We all know the story of Adam and Eve and if not it can be found in Genesis 2:4 and Genesis 3.
Personally, I think the devil has used this story to draw a line between men and women. Which by the way was not God’s plan. We were created for each other to love each other. The helper and the provider.
Many times we have often tried to pin the blame on one person for the fall of man.. First we say, ‘it is satan’s fault because he tempted them’, then we say, ‘well no it was Eve’s fault; if she wouldn’t have ate and then gave it to Adam…’, then some even say, ‘well it is Adam’s fault if he wouldn’t have eaten the fruit then God would have had mercy…’.
Even in the Garden you can clearly see that each was quick to place the blame on each other…
The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.” Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” Genesis 3:13-14
Sometimes I think that us Christians today sometimes forget that God is a righteous judge. Do we really think he would punish everyone if there was only one of them responsible for the actions?…. Well, would guess at one time or another we have thought that…But that is a LIE straight from the devil!
You see, Adam and Eve knew what the fruit of the tree of knowledge look like. It was the only tree in the entire garden that they could not eat. When God told them not to eat they had never even thought twice about it until the serpent talked with them about it.
Even so, when it all boils down to the root they still had a choice each one had a choice to eat or not eat. Now on this particular day the devil was doing what he does best and tempting them. But no one force anyone to eat anything. The serpent didn’t tell them that they would die if they didn’t eat the forbidden fruit. In fact just the opposite was told to them by God, if they did eat the fruit they would surely die.
Also, Eve didn’t blindfold Adam and tell him to take a bite, he knew that the fruit she was giving him was the forbidden fruit. Now in my opinion, I think that God didn’t kill them immediately because the devil had deceived them. However, they did have consequences for the choices they made…
Friend’s don’t let the devil deceive you … The choices we make are our own. The choices we make in this life we will have to answer for ourselves and the excuse well, so and so made me so mad that is why I did that or so and so told me this I didn’t know… ect. Those will not be adequate excuses.
No one can make you choose even if they are being deceptive….
My friends choose life, choose God, choose Jesus, choose holy, choose righteousness, choose love … YOU CHOOSE…
Be Blessed Friends.
