He’s not ashamed of us!

Ok, so as I was reading, (Okay, listening) 😉 to my Bible tonight I came across something I never thought about before and it is so awesome I have to share…

Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. He says, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises.” Hebrews 2:11-12

Here is the Son of God, the most Perfect Lamb who died a horrific death for us, to save us. Being all-knowing, knowing that our lives will be so far from perfect, he made the sacrifice for us, to break the power of death that was over us. He say’s, He is not ashamed to call us His family. (In the Kings James Version it says, “brother”… but I looked up the Greek and it means brother literally or figuratively)

Now, think about that for min… Jesus knowing all that I have done, all that you have done….is not ashamed of you. Granted, when I thought of Jesus dying for us, I didn’t see it as being ashamed but I thought it was out of love and sorrow for us lowly sinners.

But He thinks of us as

brothers and sister! He will sing our praises. He’s not focusing on our faults, getting ready to give us some constructive criticism, He’s bragging about us. It is over-whelming to think of our savior in Heaven saying to our Father.

Dad, Dad did you see what he/she did… did you see…did you see!

“What is mankind that you are mindful of them,  a son of man that you care for him?  You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor and put everything under their feet.”do not see everything subject to them. Hebrews 2:6-8

What are we that Jesus loves us so much that He is mindful of us, that He is not ashamed of us, that He cares about us? Oh, Lord I love you..I love you, Lord!
