Take notice

I have heard it said once… that the devil could be considered one of the oldest psychologists on earth. That being said a psychologist is a person who studies human behavior, mental states of humans, a person who is well versed in mental ploys or strategy.

Every time I think of that I think of these scriptures…

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5 : 7-11

The devil is watching… Sometimes I think we as Christians forget that we are walking prey.

satan is looking for just the right moment to devour you. He catches us when we are weak. (sorry, this make me a little mad so I got to do it…chicken, coward!)

Well you might be wondering why my picture is not of a lion..What’s the mask all about? You see it would be too straight-forward for the devil just to attack us when we realize we are weak. Sometimes, he hides his attack. I talk a lot about this in my post Taking back the Truth.

For me I tend to get angry when I notice things like this. I have been hit with enough fiery darts (Ephesians 6:16) that I have tried to be mindful of what is going on, so i don’t confuse reality with satan’s masks. Additionally, I know a few scripture in which I have memorized ( not necessarily word for word but the main idea) that help me to discern.

Here they are I would highly recommend them to be stored in your memory, they are powerful words against the enemy.

  • For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.1 Corinthians 14:33
  • Where jealousy and selfishness are, there will be confusion and every kind of evil James 3:16
  • Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7

But take note my friends on that last verse it says he will flee…he runs away like the coward he is but that does not mean he will leave you alone forever. He will be back and trying to trick you, he wants you gone, out of the picture but we have Jesus, so don’t fear or worry about his next attack, just be mindful of what is going on around you so you can resist him again.

Also, I would like to ask for your prayers…It has been almost a year since my father in law has passed away, with the holiday’s so near it is hard. We all miss him so much words cannot express. I ask your prayer for my family, that they receive the portions God has for them… that they reap the gladness for their mourning (Jeremiah 31:13).

We know he was a man of God so we know he is with the Lord but we miss him. Also pray that we are not blind to the lies of the devil for while we are weak in this time of sorrow I know he is looking to devour this family, they are beautiful children of God with great purposes for the Lord and the devil would love to devour them. Thanks for the Prayers.

  1. You know what I noticed about this post? Actually, the very first thing that hit me — you do not capitalize the word “satan” or “devil,” even when it’s the beginning of a sentence.
It’s odd, but for me that actually says a lot. What it says most is, “Old sly fox of a demon, you have no power over such a believer as me. I will give you none, not even in grammar.”
Words are powerful things. The Bible is made up of words. The Bible, the most powerful, stunning, harsh, sweet, and deeply written emotions ever pored over by man.
Thank you for giving Satan no power in your words.
He will find any nook or cranny to enter and to widen and with which to destroy us — just as you said in your post.

    Thank you!

    • Thanks for noticing, I do not capitalize his name. Some times I am typing and I just captialize his name at the beginning of a sentence but then I go back and change it because I definately don’t want him to think he is even close to equal to us. If I could call him chicken or coward and people know what I was talking about I probably would. Thanks for reading. God Bless.
