Yesterday, I was amazed by all the spring flowers, blooming with such beauty. I thought of how they make things, even the worst yards or the trashiest highways, look so beautiful. I also noticed, how the trees and the grass haven’t quite realized it was spring, still dead looking and in hibernation.
Then today I noticed after the rain that those pretty flowers, I had previously observed, were pounded by the rain and seemed a bit torn up. Most of their petals had fallen off. However, the grass seem to lavish in the torrential down pour, seeming to be more alive and a vibrant green.
Then I realized…
This is how life is sometimes. Sometimes, life seems to be going good…great even…but…maybe only in one aspect of our lives. (or maybe a few) However, a trial or a circumstance hits us…downpours on us and shakes things up!
We lose balance for a moment (maybe even get knocked down) think to ourselves…..”ok God what ya doing up there I was following your rules, life was good and I know you want me to be happy, so what ya doing”?
Maybe, just maybe, some of these circumstances/trials hit us, so that other parts in our lives can be watered.Maybe, we got a little too comfortable with somethings that we didn’t notice others were falling behind.
The great thing about God’s torrential downpours is he waters the whole soul to bring new life, to restore the broken fragments that we sometimes.. try to hide, forget about, or maybe even think are unimportant and/or inconvenient. But God knows.. he knows and he loves us.
While trials and circumstances are not fun and even painful at times…
God… my God…your God…The Alpha…The Omega…My counselor…My friend…
He is restoring all parts inside me, inside you… to make them all…yes, all …beautiful, full of life and to his glory. Amen.
To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.Isaian 61:3 (NLT)
In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen.1 Peter 5:10-11 (NLT)
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16 (NIV)
You will have such a surplus of crops that you will need to clear out the old grain to make room for the new harvest! Leviticus 26:10(NLT)
the earth trembled, and the heavens poured down rain before you, the God of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel. You sent abundant rain, O God, to refresh the weary land. There your people finally settled, and with a bountiful harvest, O God, you provided for your needy people. Psalm 68:8-10 (NLT)
