Today, I was very stressed from taking a college test and I was in my car trying to calm myself down and I thought… Wow, here I am being selfish again today, not thanking God for a the things he does.
Then I noticed the trees. They don’t have any leaves on them… they have been subjected to these horrid weather conditions year after year and yet they still raise their branches toward heaven. (Okay, so some may say that is because of the sun; but remember my post Sunlight and SON-light, if you haven’t read it, just click on the title it will take you there)
It seems like are praising God just for His and their mere existence not because of anything he has done for them. Oh how I want to praise God like that!
Now, there is a few exceptions to trees that are always raising their branches. For instance the Weeping Willow tree’s branches are not lifted up to the heavens (or the sun/son). However, if you look at the name, I think it says it all, the Weeping Willow Tree.
Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the LORD Most High. Psalm 7:17
that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever. Psalm 30:12
